Matt Echols


Matt began playing at the age of 6 in church and elementary school. Upon graduation from high school, he joined the Marine Corps in 1986 as a marine musician. He served in the Corps for 12 years, traveling the world and performing in Guam, Australia, the Philippines, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, Marshall Islands and New Zealand. He left the Corps in 2000 and entered the Navy shortly afterwards as a musician. Since then, he has performed in South America in Brazil, Columbia, Peru and Chile. Matt has performed for Poncho Sanchez, Eddie Palmieri and with the Salsa Band Salsa U Mas. He will be ending his 20 year Military Music career in Virginia Beach in February of 2008.
